Commentary

September 2, 2002

Well it looks like I have not done a new commentary since May, so I have a lot of catching up to do.

Zero-One
Ghostwalker and I headed back to Japan for Zero-One in May for a four show tour. We were greeted at the airport in Narita by the Japanese press wanting to take pictures of 'Green Beret' Tom Howard and The Predator, and have Native Blood give one of their famous 'YIP YIP YIP' promos. On our first day we visited the Temple in Tokyo and saw where former U.S. Presidents planted trees of peace.

Our first match took place in Kanazawa where we faced Kohei Sato & Naohiro Hoshikawa. The match was ok, but lacking the intensity I was looking for, but we still managed to beat them using 'Reservation Devastation'.

Later on the card we had to run in and help fellow Americans Steve Corino, Tom Howard and Predator fight off the entire Zero-One roster and most of the crowd. The next day we had a long bus ride to Fukushima where we would face NWA Intercontinental Tag Champs Shinjiro Otani & Masato Tanaka. On the way to the town we made a rest stop and watched the Predator beat the life out of one of the young boys. Later that evening our match was intense and fast paced, plus we felt more comfortable wrestling them for the second time. They managed to beat us when Tanaka hit me with the 'Roaring Elbow' at the thirteen minute mark. After the show we headed out to find dinner and an internet cafe, where they have the best massage chairs in the world.

The next morning we headed out to Sendai, this was a great city to walk around and people watch. During the day Ghostwalker got into the ring with Tom Howard and 'Hotstuff' Hernandez to train while Steve Corino, CW Anderson and myself watched Blazing Saddles and played video games in the dressing room. It was a good thing I was resting up because our opponents were Masato Tanaka and Tatsuhitu Takaiwa. We pulled off the victory thanks to my veteran instincts and getting my rest.

We then headed back on the bus for a five hour ride to Roppongi, where we arrived at 4 am to find ourselves in a traffic jam. We all got off of the bus and walked the last half mile to the hotel, then hit the Donner Kabob for some great chicken pitas. The next day we were back to my favorite arena Korakuen Hall to face 'Extreme Horsemen' Steve Corino & CW Anderson. The crowd was very hot and they love Corino in Tokyo, so we were not sure of the reaction we would get. As soon as they started showing our 'YIP YIP YIP' promo the crowd went nuts and chanted along with it. The best way to describe the match is Memphis 101, a lot of 'old school' and comedy. After twenty minutes of fun Corino hit GW with a low blow and pinned him. This was easily my favorite match of the tour, and I hope we get to have the rematch soon. I am thinking of putting our Japan matches on video and making them available for purchase, so keep checking the site for info as it comes. IZW- Impact Zone Wrestling has arrived in Arizona. Our first event was at the Apache Gold Casino just outside of Globe. The event was great from top to bottom. Our opponents were The Ballards for the Tag Team Championship. We managed to beat them to win the belts with some help from Hollywood, he stopped them from using the belt to knock out GW.

IZW ran their second show at Bash on Ash in Tempe, AZ with another great card and great attendance. We faced the Ballards in a rematch and lost the belts. The third event was part of a back to school weekend where we had matches in 115 degree weather, but still entertained. We are looking forward to the next IZW event and hope they just keep getting better and better.

ICW
I had the opportunity to wrestle for International Championship Wrestling in Kentucky and California in the last few months. In KY I wrestled a clown and made him cry, and in CA we wrestled some Pitbulls and made them our pups. Not much to write about with the KY shows, but Cali was fun. We wrestled the Havana Pitbulls and man are they tough, but we managed to pull of another victory. It was great meeting Kamala (yes Kamala), he was one of my favorites growing up.

Pow Wow & Wedding
This year I was witness to a beautiful wedding ceremony (too bad it was Ghostwalkers). Congratulations to my 'lil bro' and his new wife. I also attended my families yearly 'Gathering of the Clans' Pow Wow in California. It was great to see the family members, even though they put me to work helping with the fry bread.

Photo Shoot
I was part of a photo and video shoot for Highspots.com in North Carolina. The company is having wrestlers wrestle in the gear that can be ordered through Highspots and putting together a 'infomercial' type video to send to all of the wrestling schools across the country. I want to thank Bernard for the booking and the first class treatment, and I also want to thank Malakai for the great matches.

UPW
Ultimate Pro Wrestling held another event at the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, CA. We were scheduled to face 'Off da Hook', but I guess they were a little scared and backed out of the match. When Mr. Bassman told us we did not have a match we were just a little upset and decided to do something about it. The UPW Tag Champs The Ballards were defending their titles against the Urban Outlaws, so we decided to get a ringside look at the match. Well, Mr. Mike Nox decided to give us a cheap shot. We could not just stand there and let that happen, so we attacked him and tied him to the ring post then attacked Marshall. The Ballards thought we were helping them out and tried to thank us only to be attacked as well. I think UPW will make sure we have opponents at the next event or we might start attacking again.

IZW School
The IZW school is going well and our students are progressing quickly. We are pleased that Mike Nox has moved to the valley and is now one of our instructors along with myself. If you ever thought about becoming a professional wrestler I suggest you look into The Impact Zone.

I believe that covers most of what has been happening, so until next time always believe. Nav
