Hello again,
As always, I hope everyone is doing well.
AWA: In the last two months we have had a four matches with the AWA, and
three of them were title defenses. Our first defense was at the Pinal County Fair in Casa
Grande, AZ against Hollywood & Mike Nox (the Regulators). The match was pretty fast
and intense, and we almost lost the belts when they hit Ghostwalker with a chair. We
managed to take advantage of Nox's over confidence and isolate Hollywood to get the
victory. The next defense was in Prescott, AZ the Regulators received a rematch. The crowd
was very hot and ready to see their home town wrestler (Ghostwalker) in action. The match
was even more intense than Casa Grande, but we were ready for anything and got the
victory. The third defense was in Cottonwood, AZ against our long time rivals The Ballard
Brothers. Our battles with the Ballards have been going on for the last two years and it
does not look like there is an end in sight. We just happened to squeeze by a victory in
this match, and it looks like they will be getting a return match soon. The last show I
did for the AWA was at a Cinco de Mayo festival in Lemoore, CA. The crowd was reported to
be from 2,000 to 5,000 in attendance, and they were very vocal. I was scheduled to wrestle
Shannon Ballard in singles competition both of our partners were banned from attending the
show. The match was pretty even, then I started to get more aggressive in order to win the
match. I went for a flying cross-body and when we landed Shannon rolled through and
covered me for the win (with his feet on the ropes). I guess I should have been using my
head a little more, since Shannon is always thinking of ways to win.
WWF/WWE: The WWE was in Arizona for Raw & Smackdown last month.
Ghostwalker and I attended Raw and visited with some old friends. It was great to see RVD
again, and see that he is doing great. The next night I attended Smackdown in
Tucson, AZ. I was scheduled to wrestle Randy Orton in a dark match. We were ready to make
our ring entrance, but unfortunately we were told that the segment before us went long and
our match was scratched. To say I was dissapointed would be an understatement, but those
things happen and I believe there will be another WWE match in my future. While at
Smackdown I was able to meet and talk with my wrestling idol Hulk Hogan. I want to thank
Sgt. Slaughter and Dave Hebner for the booking.
ICW: The ICW ran in Ft. Huachuca, AZ and I was having a pretty bad day.
We arrived early for ring set up, and were making good time on getting the ring up. When
we were testing the ropes the top rope snapped and we had no way of fixing it. Luckily
there was a hardware store near by and Chainsaw (my Redneck Mcguyver) was able to fix the
rope, but we had to switch it with the bottom rope and told the guys to stay off of the
bottom rope. During the first match the promoter comes to the locker room and tells me
that the second rope has just broke, of course I though he was joking. It was no joke,
when one of the guys stood on the second rope it snapped, but luckily it was an easier
fix. Our match that night was against the Russian Assassins, and thanks to a very loud and
fired up crowd I was able to get my head into the match. We defeated the Russians and I
was still worried about the ring for the rest of the matches. The ropes held up for the
rest of the show and I was finally able to relax on the ride home.
IPW: Intermountain Pro Wrestling invited me to wrestle for them in Utah
last month and it was a pretty good show. I was happy to see they were using talent like
Nox, The Ballards, Storm, Sierra, Solo and the legendary Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.
I wrestled Tiki the wild Samoan. I managed to get a win over Tiki with a little help from
my valet.
UPW: Ultimate Pro Wrestling ran two shows in CA and Native Blood was part
of it all. The first show was at the Galaxy. We wrestled and defeated Pure Catastrophe,
there was nothing pretty about this match. I will write more about the last UPW show and
our upcoming tour of Japan in my next commentary.
Misc: I would like to send my condolences to the families and friends of
the late Chief Wahoo McDaniel and the legendary Lou Thesz. I also want to send well wishes
to Paul Bearer and his wife Dianne, my prayers are with you and your family.
School: The Impact Zone wrestling school is now open in Phoenix, AZ. If
you would like more info please e-mail me or call the school at (602) 434-4644. I will
have more on the school in my next commentary.
Until then, Take care & Always believe.
